Dr. Jose R. Reyes, Jr., is an Interventional Pain Specialist that has been in private practice since 1995. Dr. Reyes is fluent in Spanish and proud of his Cuban heritage.

About Dr. Reyes

Dr. Reyes graduated from Universidad Monterrey in Mexico and transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Austin at Brackenridge where he completed an internship in Pediatrics. He then completed his first residency in Anesthesia at Baylor College of Medicine and second residency at Washington University specializing in Anesthesia and Pain Management.

His father was the founder of Pasadena Pain Management Consultants where Dr. Reyes served as Medical Director from 1995 until 2012. He has also served as a Staff Anesthesiologist at several hospitals and surgery centers over the past 19 years.

Dr. Reyes takes great pride in his patient care and treats each and every patient as though they are a family member. He specializes in a broad range of interventional treatments from injections to pain pumps to spinal cord stimulators. His interventional approach allows patients to regain control of their daily lives and live without pain.

He is the recipient of the Pediatric Resident of the Year in 1991 at Brackenridge in Austin and the Bent Needle Award of Outstanding Children’s Hospital of Obstetric Anesthesia in 1992 at the Baylor College of Medicine. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Association, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, and North American Neuromodulation Society.

Dr. Nikhil Iyer is an interventional pain management physician who is committed to a holistic approach to provide the best long term restoration of function for his patients. He is double board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain medicine and is an active member of the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Iyer graduated early from the University of Michigan with highest distinction and bachelor’s degrees in both Neuroscience and Statistics. He continued his education at the University of Michigan Medical School where he was awarded the Robert B. Sweet Medical Student Award for displaying the highest potential among his peers for contributions in the field of anesthesiology. Dr. Iyer stayed at the University of Michigan to complete his internship and residency in anesthesiology. At the completion of his residency, he was awarded the resident award for academic excellence which recognizes exceptional performance with academic benchmarks during training. Throughout his training, Dr. Iyer stayed actively involved with research in both anesthesiology and pain medicine. He has published his research and presented his work at a number of conferences including the annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Following completion of his residency training, Dr. Iyer moved to Saint Louis to complete a fellowship in pain medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine. Here, he became well-versed in a broad array of interventional and non-interventional techniques to manage pain, including injections, spinal cord stimulation, and intrathecal drug delivery. Following his fellowship training and prior to joining the team at Principle Spine and Pain, Dr. Iyer established and rapidly developed a comprehensive interventional pain management program at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Saint Louis.

Dr. Iyer’s patient care philosophy centers around restoring function for his patients. His primary goal is to develop a comprehensive care plan in concert with his colleagues that allows his patients to get back to pursuing the hobbies they are most passionate about. He is excited to be a part of the Principle Spine and Pain team and remains committed to working with his patients to provide the best possible care to manage pain, restore function, and enable his patients to return to their hobbies and passions.

In his free time, Dr. Iyer enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring greater Houston with his wife and dog. Dr. Iyer sees patients at our Pasadena location.

Dr. Dar is board-certified in Anesthesiology and believes, above all, in providing compassionate health care to his patients. Dr. Dar specializes in comprehensive care for chronic pain, neuromodulation, and targeted drug delivery.

Dr. Dar was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, and moved to the USA in 2006. During his tenure at the Long School of Medicine of UT Health San Antonio, Dr. Dar was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for academic excellence, Gold Humanism Honor Society for compassionate patient care, and involved in international medical mission trips in medical school.

He completed an internship in general surgery followed by a residency in Anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he earned board certification in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).

After residency, Dr. Dar furthered his expertise by completing an interventional chronic pain fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, under Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.

When he’s not working to provide the best service to his patients, Dr. Dar enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Dr. Arfan Qureshi joined Principal Spine and Pain in 2024. As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, his approach has always been holistic in nature. Dr. Qureshi has learned early on to treat the patient rather than the symptom. The goal of treatment is to make the patient functional again using a multimodal approach of therapies, lifestyle modifications, medications, and interventions.

After graduating from Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, he went on to complete his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor Scott and White in Dallas, Texas. He then went on to subspecialize and completed an ACGME-accredited Interventional Pain Fellowship at University of Alabama Birmingham.

Dr. Qureshi is trained to perform a number of different fluoroscopic guided interventional pain management procedures. These include, but are not limited to cervical, thoracic, lumbar epidurals, facet joint injections, sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and other cutting-edge treatment modalities in interventional spine. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine, interventional spine procedures, manual manipulation, and regenerative therapy.

Due to his accomplishments, Dr. Qureshi was elected chief resident at Baylor during his residency training and again in his fellowship year. He was also elected as the ambassador of his program by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Qureshi also served as an adjunct clinical instructor at the renowned Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Qureshi has published and has been the lead researcher of multiple studies during his academic career.

Dr. Qureshi serves as a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, North American Neuromodulation Society, and the World Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Qureshi has a passion in playing and watching basketball, discussing innovative technologies, and traveling the world to try various cuisines.

Dr. Dwayne Dunbar is a dedicated physician specializing in pain management, committed to offering compassionate care and improving the quality of life for his patients. Born and raised in Huntsville, Texas, Dr. Dunbar developed a profound interest in medicine. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin, where his exceptional academic performance placed him in the top 10% of his class. Furthering his medical education, he simultaneously earned a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Texas at Houston Medical School and a Master’s in Business Administration. He completed a surgical internship at the University of Tennessee in 2017 and continued his medical studies with an anesthesia residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston until 2022. His passion for pain management led him to the prestigious Mayo Clinic, where he received subspecialty training from some of the most renowned pain physicians in the country.

Dr. Dunbar is a respected member of both the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) and the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS). He has made significant contributions to the field of pain management through various publications, including abstracts, manuscripts, and poster presentations. He specializes in a range of techniques such as multimodal pain management, fluoroscopic injections, ultrasound-guided procedures, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulators, minimally invasive pain surgery, and regenerative medicine to manage pain in his patients.

In his free time, Dr. Dunbar is an avid weight training enthusiast and a passionate fan of the Texas Longhorns. His interests in sports and fitness reflect his belief in the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle, a philosophy that is reflected in his approach to patient care.

Daniel Hatmaker, NP-C, DC is a Galveston Island native who accomplished his Doctor of Chiropractic and Masters of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner.

Daniel Hatmaker, NP-C, DC is a Galveston Island native who accomplished his Doctor of Chiropractic and Masters of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner. Throughout the duration of his training, Dr. Hatmaker had the opportunity to intern at the renowned V.A. Central Hospital in Temple, TX, as well as participate in mission trips in which he provided healthcare for the citizens of Manaus, Brazil and Cuernevaca, Mexico.

He also had the opportunity to work with citizens within the community by completing a majority of his residency at Clear Lake Regional Hospital. He has completed over 200 hours of post-graduate studies in Clinical Nutrition. He has also served as one of the team doctors for the Galveston Whitecaps (volleyball, softball, and baseball teams).

Dr. Hatmaker brings a desire to improve an individual’s quality of life by implementing safe and effective practices of interventional pain medicine. His unique outlook on health has allowed him to successfully treat 1000’s of patients. His passion for interventional pain medicine has allowed him to excel in the focus of ultrasound-guided injections and inpatient management of various pain syndromes. He is always searching for new, innovative, and effective ways to treat our patients

Anita Gonzalez, PA-C is licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Physician Assistant and is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Anita Gonzalez started her medical career in the United States Air Force where she served six years as a Medical Service Specialist/Technician. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at the College of Charleston in 1999 and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Utah in 2007. Since graduating, she has been practicing in the field of Pain Medicine. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Texas Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA).

Brian Seabolt, P.A.-C., is a native of Alvin, Texas, and is licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Physician Assistant and is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Houston Baptist University in 1990, Bachelor of Science in Perfusion Technology from University of Texas Health Science Center in 1992, and Master of Heath Sciences from University of Oklahoma in 1999. Since graduating, he has practiced in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, and Interventional Pain Management.
He has a broad background of experience, understands patients’ needs, and delivers compassionate care.

James Dieter has been in the study and practice of Pain Medicine since 2008. James Dieter implements a unique approach to the functional application of interventional pain medicine.

His extensive educational background began with an undergraduate sports medicine degree of Applied Exercise Physiology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Shortly thereafter, completed his post-graduate education at the Texas Chiropractic College. He then received a Masters of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Samford University. During his training, James Dieter was accepted for rotations at the Debakey Veterans Hospital in Houston, TX, as well as an international fellowship that provided medical care for the citizens of Cuernavaca, Mexico. James Dieter was also chosen for the sports medical team of the CONCACAF Gold Cup Games.

Through his experience in a multitude of disciplines, James Dieter is capable of treating a wide variety of pathologies and conditions from a unique perspective. He strives to be the best in the field of ultrasound guided injection therapy and joint manipulation under anesthesia.

Elizabeth Guerra is an Adult-Gerontology nurse practitioner who specializes in treating acute and chronic pain in the elderly population.Her nursing background includes over ten years of experience in a variety of backgrounds including medical surgical, pediatrics, and interventional radiology. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas and then earned her Master of Science degree at Texas Women’s University. She holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Charley Bonnin, PA-C is licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Physician Assistant and is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

A native Texan, Charley received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at The University of Texas at Tyler in 2016 and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Marywood University in Scranton, PA in 2019. She has worked in general surgery and emergency medicine since graduating.

Charley sees patients at our Texas City location.

Jackson Kelly is a Family Nurse Practitioner who is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She specializes in treating acute and chronic pain with multiple underlying causes in patients of all ages.

Jackson attended both baccalaureate and graduate programs of study on full academic scholarships, graduating summa cum laude with her BSN from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX in 2009 and magna cum laude with her MSN-FNP from the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, TX in 2023. She was inducted in Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sigma Theta Tau, and Gold Key academic honor societies throughout her education. In her 12+ years in nursing, her background includes a wide variety of care in terms of both patient populations and settings, making her ability to relate and cater to a wider range of those seeking her care. Within the past 5 years as an RN, she was named a “Good Samaritan Excellence in Nursing Award Winner” 3 times and was named a “Houston Chronicle Top 100 Nurse” in 2023.

Jackson was a founding member of the non-profit organization Heartbeats of Hope, which children with cancer and their families living in the Golden Triangle/Beaumont area, where Jackson was born and raised. She remains on the board of directors to date. She is currently a member of multiple pain management practitioner societies, including ASPMNs as well as AANP’s Pain Management and Orthopedics SPGs.

In her spare time, she enjoys music and is a classical pianist, learning new languages, reading novels, and watching films with her Husband and their “fur-baby” Lou. She also previously owned and taught at a dance studio in her hometown and is very passionate about the arts.

Jackson’s personal motto and philosophy towards patient care is simple – “Everyone is someone’s family, so when you’re in my office, my goal is to treat you the way I would want myself or my own family treated – the absolute very best – because that is what you deserve.” Between her unique and caring approach to patients and her diverse set of skills, she brings many important abilities into the patient care setting. Jackson sees patients at our Clear Lake/Webster location.

Daniela Martinez is an accomplished nurse and accredited case manager, deeply committed to improving patient care and advocacy across diverse communities. Raised in Galveston, Texas, Daniela began her academic journey at Galveston College, where she excelled as President of the Student Nurses Association. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Beginning her nursing career at Shriners Children’s Hospital, Daniela specialized in burn care for seven years. She has held various roles, including bedside nurse, outpatient clinic nurse, and PACU nurse. She has also played a vital role in outreach clinic programs, providing essential care and training to nursing staff in remote villages in Mexico, Peru, and Taiwan through telehealth.

Daniela possesses broad clinical experience in NICUs, geriatrics, OBs, and hospice care, with a particular passion for wound care. She is a fervent advocate for mental health integration in treatment plans, especially in managing chronic and acute pain, and aims to further her expertise with a post-master’s certificate in Psychology. Daniela also leverages her extensive knowledge to advocate for patients, helping them navigate complex health systems to secure necessary resources.

Of Guatemalan and Sinaloa descent, Daniela is the first college graduate in her family and is fluent in Spanish. She embraces her heritage and strives to be a role model for others. Outside of her profession, Daniela enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, two dogs, and her cat. She is a local sports enthusiast and can usually be found cheering on the Astros and Dynamo teams during their games. Daniela’s devotion to healthcare and her community reflects her dedication to delivering exceptional and compassionate care.
